I was given a special award for Strength and Resilience.
When I went up on stage I got a standing ovation! A lot of people had tears in their eyes.
This is what I got the award for...
This year we have a special award for a year 6 pupil from Anderton CP.
Sally Cornes. Sally became ill in September last year and has spent much of the year undergoing treatment at Manchester children’s hospital and also in Germany. This has not stopped Sally doing what she loves and that’s to dance. Not only did she still perform in the annual panto in Adlington at Christmas but she has continued to attend school as often as she’s been able to and for the second year running be part of our academy. She even made her consultant change her treatment date so she could perform at the school games and attend her y7 induction day at her new high school. Even when Sally has been unable to attend rehearsals she has caught up by asking a friend to teach her what she’s missed and always returns knowing exactly what she should be doing. Sally has fought and won her battle and is now just in the mop up stages of her treatment. She’s an absolute inspiration to everyone who meets her and we are all so proud of her.
We’d like Sally to except a special award for strength and resilience.
